Surrounded by a rocky landscape, a bright sun and a calm atmosphere, and with nature in all its splendor, Cuesta del Viento offers walks through unrivaled places and a sure bet for enjoying windsurfing for all levels of learning. To come with friends, family or just alone, you will find friendly and good people wave that loves this one sport and it happens very well. Cuesta del Viento dam is considered the best place in the Argentina for windsurfing practice. In the morning the waters are calm, but as the day progresses the wind begins to blow and blow all the time.


Passage of Aguas Negras to Chile

Leaving Rodeo towards the West, you can go through the Andes up to Aguas Negras International passage, linking Argentina with Chile.

Arriving at an altitude of 4700 meters, the edges of the road begin to fill with small glaciers and eternal snows. The gigantic mountains, with their earthy colors are trimming the celestial sky of than a more pure one.

The trail is quiet but winding marking the landscape as a furrow of ants that crosses the immensity of these places.. The landscape makes you feel in harmony with nature. It is without any doubt, a wonderful place.

The road is asphalt initially and then becomes gravel. This tour can be done at any particular vehicle because there are no guides, tours, or organized tours. It lasts for half a day.

It is a good alternative for fun.


The Pismanta Thermes:

Pismanta Termes are a wonderful place to relax after any kind of  activity.

They are located 15 minutes away from Rodeo

The water temperature stays in a range from 28 to 42 degrees.
Massage, sauna and steam room are also available.


Rafting at Río Jáchal:

Rio Jachal is an ideal river to practice rafting. You can enjoy a dayly ride with specialized guides, and also you can do it in the middle of the night.

The river is not deep or with uncontrollable flow. The shore is a few meters and you will have helmet and vest to protect from the rocks. The stretch of dizzying ride measured twelve kilometres and reach speeds of up to 30 or 40 km per hour.


Near San Juan:

The Moon valley (Ischigualasto) and Talampaya:


Ischigualasto is a very rich palaeontological reserve unique in the world. You can drive trough the park for almost 40 km, with your own car. During this trip it's worth to see five main interesting points: El Gusano, Pintado valley, Cancha de Bochas, El Submarino and El Hongo. In order to fully accomplish the trip you have to calculate more or less 3 hours. You can see rocky strange forms, fossils, and crossing the border with La Rioja province, you´ll find Talampaya, a National Park with and extraordinary beauty also showed by rocky forms and a attractive reddish coloration. Ichigualasto and Talampaya are Unesco patrimony.

The Wine routes:

In San Juan, and all over the province, you will find wine producers offering their wine and grapes.

It is possible to organize an “enogastronomic” trip around San Juan degusting various type of home made wine.

Barreal:

The Barreal is a dry plain located in the southeast of San Juan Province. It has fourteen km long by five wide, in a place where several million years ago dried up a lake.

The Barreal, besides being a beautiful landscape, is perhaps the best track "carrovelismo" of the world. A "carrovela" is a vehicle with two rear wheels of car, a scooter front of two racks of steel mast and a fuselage made of aluminum, which is moved by wind.
